About Jessica
The heart behind the book.
Jessica Pierce is the founder and CEO of Career Connectors, a nonprofit that elevates communities by empowering job seekers, employers, and community partners.
She started Career Connectors in 2009, in the middle of the Great Recession, after her own family lost nearly everything. What began as a volunteer resume night in a church classroom has grown into a community that has served more than 87,000 job seekers.
Today, Jessica leads free monthly events for job seekers, trains workforce professionals through Workforce Forward, and shares job search and workplace advice on 12News in Phoenix. In 2026, she was honored as a Civilian Veteran Champion for her work serving veterans, service members, and military spouses.
